First time moms are showered with baby gifts throughout their pregnancy and once their new little squish arrives. Sometimes, it’s nice for moms to get a little something, just for them. Gifts for new moms are also a great idea for subsequent pregnancies/births; an occasion that’s just as special as the first, but often gets overlooked. Share some love with mom and pick up one of these thoughtful gifts.
Spa Gift Basket for Mom
Encourage mom to take some time for herself by gifting her a spa basket. Some of my favourite things to include are: relaxing bath salts or bubble bath, cozy slippers or a cozy blanket, cozy pj’s, a magazine or a book (some easy reading), a scented soy candle or kid safe essential oils if she’s into that, a specialty tea or hot cocoa with a mug, a face mask, body lotion, and…oh, don’t forget a special little treat!
Gift Certificate or Service
Another great gift idea for moms is to spoil her with a gift certificate that she can use at her convenience. Most moms would appreciate a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure, facial, massage, a one-time house clean, or even a doula for post-natal help.
Dinner/Food Prep
New moms are often overwhelmed with a new baby in the house. Those little darlings love to keep mom busy 24/7. When is she going to have time to feed herself or anyone else in the family? Help her out by bringing over a meal, whether it be homemade or purchased. An alternative is to bring over a few smaller snacks, since moms are often grazing throughout the day to keep up with baby. Soups, veggie trays, sandwiches, nuts and fruits are all great options. Not having to think about what to cook is sometimes the best gift ever!
Journal
A notebook or journal and some cute pens are a great gift idea for moms to record her thoughts, feelings and baby milestones. There are so many fun journals, you’re sure to find one that mom will love.

What mom doesn’t like jewelry? Personalize a necklace or bracelet with baby’s name and she’ll cherish it forever – or at least until it breaks! Lastly, if you can’t decide what to get, sometimes the best gift is you. Offer to spend some time with mom, have a “play” date with baby, offer to watch baby while mom runs a few errands – she’ll love you for it!
